Hello, the other day my father found a nest of swallows where he works and in the afternoon it is seen that he saw a baby on the ground, he returned it to the nest and today he has found that the parents fall on him and do not feed him .
The safest thing is to bring it home so we can take care of it, so I come to you because we have never taken care of a baby swallow and we don't know how to do it, or what to feed it or what it needs.
If you could help we would appreciate it and the little swallow too ^^
Thanks in advance.
What you should do is take it to a specialized site, a swallow is not a pet, it is quite likely that it dies while raising it or that it dies later, they are not animals to have in a cage, apart from the fact that being insectivorous everything is more complicated.
My advice is that you take it somewhere like the one that happened in the link near where you live, or let nature take its course.
PD: Put some photo xD
Pay attention to what 2 # says, it is very possible that he dies while you try to take care of him. The best thing is that you take it to some center, that they will know how to get it through.
# 2 # 3 The swallow is fine thanks, I have only been told that I have to give him an insectivorous porridge and that you have to feed him every hour, eat well and this espabilada at the moment we will try to continue taking care of it but thanks for the page.
# 4 And how to teach flying and wildlife how do you intend to do it? Do you plan to keep it for the rest of your life or will you leave it free when you grow up?
Best answer: Well in principle .. tell you that it is a very nice and unusual gesture. people who take care of seemingly "if important" lives are worthy of value.
Small swallows usually eat bugs that the mother brings them, but of course you have it more complicated, you can give it millet (in animal stores they sell them special for these cases, it is a very small cereal and easy to swallow). You will have to force the piquito until it gets used to open it alone to eat, and you will have to give it water (little) with a finite syringe. In pharmacies you can find them very small. As for the wing. because the truth is difficult to recover, if there is an injury, take care of it with betadine and that's it.
I hope to be of help, and again .. congratulate your appreciation for life.
